Update on my professional activities, and more!
I am currently the GA for the Experimental Media and Movement Arts (EMMA) Lab.

I am a first year in the department and plan to research my program VICKI - Virtual Improvisational Choreographer / Kinetic Instructor. I am interested in how it may used as a training tool in many aspects of dance (choreography, improvisation, pedagogy, technique). I am also planning to expand its current version into a full-length concert consisting of ten variations on the current program. These ten variations will be explorations of how VICKI can construct choreography for a solo, a duet, and group pieces during the performance. Additionally, the concert will attempt to demonstrate how artificial intelligence may or may not differ from choreography constructed manually.

While I am in grad school, I will also devote a great deal of time exploring music technology, robotics, web design, animation, electronics, and signal processing. I hope to get to know more about 3D virtual environments as well.

I hope to discover theory as I work to connect with other fields. I am planning collaborations with artists from far away lands to enrich my practice and broaden my approach to using new media in dance.

Investigating and Inquiring are my two favorite words.

Not my wedding. I'm doing a site-specific improv, street ballet, at the International Symposium for Electronic Art 2006 in San Jose - and that young man is an artist from Etoy (switzerland)

Rad. Bob, I miss him! Thanks for watching Triage. I'm thinking of creating parts II and III this year, completing it. How have your first few days at OSU been? Advice- that you might not hear from your advisor- seek classes outside of the department. The art department is phenominal, as it the theater department, I continue to use many of the skills that I have learned in the classes that I took at those two places. Also, find out who the visiting professors are in the other departments, often they are unique and fascinating individuals who you can learn from by just staring into their eyes intensely. Take classes in the summer and use the studios all the time, they are there and often empty, use them. Put a piece in every showing that OSU offers, no matter what. That's my advice, and of course... that's not all! Good luck!
