After a stint living back in London and lecturing full-time at the Royal Academy of Dance I got a fellowship to return to the US to pursue a PhD in Cultural Studies. I got a Graduate Certificate in Women's Studies while I was pushing through the course work, and had a great time teaching a class on masculinity. It was a new area of study for me, and researching the area and writing the syllabus were eye-opening activities.
I advanced to candidacy before Christmas, have been teaching some theory and some notation back at OSU this quarter (to really wonderful, smart, engaging students), and have used that as an excuse to procrastinate for 10 weeks on the writing of my dissertation.
I'm still making art every now and then. Aside from putting together some short videodance experiments with Ann Yee, I am also a founder member of a digital/visual/performance art group in Washington, DC - The Floating Lab Collective. I'll post some photos of our Protesting on Demand piece from 2007 when I get a moment.
Oh, and breaking news. . . I just went 'under contract' with a book proposal. 2008 is shaping up to be another good year.

This is a funny message from you, because I only feel cool when I am around the likes of you.
I really am just a great big dork who stays home on Saturday nights alone with my dog and old movies (interested in joining me sometime...I'm am pretty sure I'm fed up with boys, I need me a sturdy woman)
Ha! Yeah, I guess that is a little sad. The dog was not happy about being held on my lap while I took 20 pictures, so I think I finally lost patience with smiling. Besides, I look très mystérieux.

Give me a ring when you're in town (917) 902-4380.
I once thought I saw you across a subway platform in NYC. Maybe you, maybe just a figment of my imagination.
Hope you're enjoying yourself & your surroundings!
