Since earning my MFA in Choreography from OSU, I taught for a few years at Virginia State University (an historical black college in the Richmond, VA area) as an Assistant Professor of Dance. In 1999 I returned to Los Angeles, where I grew up and have remained in southern California since then, doing a lot of adjunct teaching (Long Beach City College, Cal State Long Beach), performing a bit, collaborating with musicians and writers, earning another Master's degree in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica, being an active volunteer with the Dance Resource Center, a local professional and dance service organization and trying to stay aware of the concert dance community here by seeing as much dance as possible. For the past 3 years I've been a full-time faculty member in the Dance Department of Pasadena City College, teaching modern technique, jazz, dance history, composition, movement for child development, and choreographing and directing student concerts. I have recently been selected as a resident artist in an interdisciplinary, collaborative project called, The Genesis Project, L.A. with 5 other L.A. based artists and one international artist. The residency focuses on the practice of creativity and investigation and will happen during the entire month of August hosted by Sea and Space Explorations Gallery in Los Angeles. Never thought we (husband Stephen and I) would be settled again in "Lost Angeles", but here we are trying to make the best of it.
It means a great education and foundation, ongoing friendships with former classmates and appreciation for all that I received from the Dance program, faculty, students and support systems. I also appreciated the Wexner Center and other arts venues around Columbus which gave much stimulation and inspiration.
Other:
I don't know what I can offer but am open to the possibililty.
